My family has had these for quite a few years. I would like to keep these together and pass them on to a collector or someone who loves American History. Each set comes framed with coins and stamps dating back to the 1800?s.
The Trailblazers plaque

The Mercury Dime of 90% silver was designed in 1916 by Adolph Weinman.
The Pioneers Set

The Buffalo Nickel, first minted in 1913, was designed by James E. Fraser
Black Diamond, a 1500 pound bison from New York Zoo, actually served as the model for the reverse of this famous coin.
The American Indian

Indian Head Cents were designed in 1859 by James B. Longacre and minted until 1909. The "Indian" nickel is really the obverse of the famed Buffalo Nickel.
The Indian chief depicted is a composite of chiefs from three different tribes.
The Forty Niners

When the Kiberty Nickel, designed by Charles E. Barber , was first minted in 1883, a large "V" appeared on the reverse but the word "cents" was missing.
After some were gold plated and passed as $5 gold pieces, the oversight was corrected and the amended version was minted until 1913.
